Panelists talked about business recovery efforts two years after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Topics included economic development, environmental issues, Louisiana’s refinery capacity, small business loans, rebuilding higher education, health care, needed legislation, and changed demographics. After their presentations the panelists responded to audience members' questions.

Senator Mary Landrieu hosted a “Hope and Recovery Summit” to mark the second anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the flooding that followed. The event was held at the University of New Orleans Lindy C. Boggs International Conference Center Auditorium. close
