U.S. President George H.W. Bush and Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe exchanged remarks on the South Lawn of the White House before President Mugabe’s departure. President Mugabe had met with President Bush and discussed, among other topics, the economic development of his African country. President Bush lauded Zimbabwe for embarking upon democratic and economic reforms, and the African leader thanked his host and discussed the economic reform program begun in his country. close
