An oversight hearing was held on the treatment of wounded soldiers at Water Reed Army Medical Center. The committee examined the Government Accountability Office’s independent assessment of actions taken by the administration to improve and to streamline care for wounded soldiers. Witnesses testified about reforms implemented by the Army following revelations of poor treatment of U.S. personnel returning from Iraq, the pace of implementing several support and recovery programs, and requested extensions for program implementation. close
