The National Women’s Political Caucus sponsored a forum on emerging global issues concerning women, featuring leaders of women’s organizations from around the world. Issues discussed in the forum included the problems of female refugees, environmental problems including global warming, and the role of women in international affairs. Juliette McKennon discussed her work in a United Nations commission on international women’s issues, which has been investigating the problems facing women refugees in Africa and the Middle East, as well as examining family planning programs in third world countries. close
