A panel of younger philanthropists talked about giving money, what inspires their philanthropic efforts and the activism of the younger generation. One aspect discussed was the use of social networking technology. Joe Green, a developer of the Cause application on Facebook, participated from the audience. Sally Quinn moderated.

“Philanthropy and the Next Generation” was a program of the Slate 60 Conference on Innovative Philanthropy, which was co-sponsored by Slate Magazine, The William J.
