Craig Minassian, a former Clinton administration press aid who is now a consultant to Comedy Central and HBO, talked about the intersection of politics and comedy. Topics included people obtaining their news from “fake” news shows and the use of comedy by politicians. During his presentation he showed video clips of presidential candidates on comedy shows.

Mr. Minassian is a consultant for television networks such as HBO and Comedy Central where he creates communication and marketing strategies around politically-themed and socially-relevant programming. Recently he was responsible for “Comic Relief 2006” with Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams, which benefited families still recovering from Hurricane Katrina and is creating communication strategies for Indecision 2008, the election year activities for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. close
