James Dimon talked about the current financial crisis in America. He said that the American economy is probably in a recession. He guessed that financial cleanup is about halfway done, but estimated that home prices will continue to decline for another year. After his speech he answered questions from members of the club.

The event was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Fairmont Washington Hotel.

On March 14 it was announced that Bear Stearns, the fifth-largest U.S. investment bank, was purchased by JPMorgan Chase with help from the Federal Reserve. close
