The Rev. Dr. Peter Gomes talked about his book, The Scandalous Gospel of Jesus: What’s So Good about the Good News? He contended that the current religious climate is too focused on the idea of Jesus rather than the study of his words and argued that this fixation has led the Christian church adrift. He responded to audience members' questions.
The Rev. Dr. Gomes is a Christian morals professor as well as a minister of the Memorial Church at Harvard University. He is the author of several books, including The Good Book: Reading the Bible with Mind and Heart. close
