Amy Schatz reported on the planned vote on media ownership at a Federal Communications Commission meeting. FCC rules had forbidden a newspaper to own a television or radio station in the same market unless they receive a waiver from the FCC. If passed by the FCC, the rules would be relaxed to allow for cross-ownership in the top 20 markets.
