Rep. Mike Conaway talked about the Alternative Minimum Tax. The House voted during the previous day to reduce the number of taxpayers who were subjected to the alternative minimum tax. The measure was passed by a vote of 352-64 and was expected to cost $50 billion. Conaway, a Republican, said that the Democrats should cut spending elsewhere to cover the costs of the plan. He talked about issues concerning congressional spending. He responded to telephone calls and email. close
