Book TV visited the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop in Chicago to interview owner Daniel Weinberg about “virtual book signing.” Using live webcast technology, Weinberg interviewed authors and allowed web viewers to pre-order a signed book. The customer watched the book being signed from their home, and also watched the author get interviewed.
Abraham Lincoln Book Shop owner Daniel Weinberg, virtual book signing producer Bjorn Skaptason, audio and encoding engineer Daniel Stone, and project manager Sylvia Castle were interviewed to gain insight on how virtual book signing works.
General Wesley Clark (ret.) talked about his book, A Time to Lead: For Duty, Honor and Country, published by Palgrave Macmillan. In his book, General Clark explained how his dismay with the Bush Administration’s determination to invade Iraq without a valid reason in his opinion led to him seeking the presidency in 2004. General Clark also argued for the use of negotiation and diplomacy over military force to resolve international disputes. close
