Russell Korobkin talked about his book Stem Cell Century: Law and Policy for a Breakthrough Technology, published that day by Yale University Press. He joined other experts who talked about the policy, ethical, and legal issues surrounding stem cell research. Topics included patent law and property rights, the role of government and public funding, informed consent, the status of an embryo, and compensation for embryo and tissue donations. The panelists also talked about the announcement the previous week that stem cells can cure sickle cell anemia in mice. After their presentations, the panelists responded to questions from members of the audience. Brock Reeve moderated.
