Former Senator David Boren talked about efforts by him and former Senator Sam Nunn to encourage a spirit of bipartisanship in the presidential campaigns, and to encourage candidates to include people of other parties in their potential cabinets. He spoke from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma, where he and Senator Nunn are sponsoring a conference on politics the next Monday, January 7, 2008. Former Senator Boren is the president of the university. Topics included whether this effort could lead to an independent, such as Michael Bloomberg, entering the presidential race with the potential support of centrists. After his interview, the reporters in the Washington studio discussed his responses with the host. close
