Jule Fenster talked about her book The Case of Abraham Lincoln: A Story of Adultery, Murder, and the Making of a Great President, published by Palgrave Macmillan. The author spent 12 years combing through eight years of the legal records of Abraham Lincoln. She focused on the year 1856, which she considers the most pivotal of his life. In her talk she discussed a sensational murder trial in Springfield, Illinois, that year in which Lincoln served as defense attorney for the accused. She responded to questions from members of the audience. close
