Jim Hightower talked about his book, Swim Against the Current: Even a Dead Fish Can Go with the Flow (Wiley, 2008). In his book Mr. Hightower shares the stories of people who he says have bucked the system and are finding their own way toward a better life. He claims that corporate interests have seized American politics and government and that more people need to rebel against this trend. After his presentation he was joine by his co-author, Susan DeMarco, in responding to questions from members of the audience.
Jim Hightower is a syndicated columnist and national radio commentator. He publishes the Hightower Lowdown newsletter and is the author of Thieves In High Places. Susan Demarco is a writer, former radio talk-show host, and public-interest activist. close
