Douglas Feith talked about his book War and Decision: Inside the Pentagon at the Dawn of the War on Terrorism, published by Harper. In the book Feith, who was under secretary of defense for policy from 2001 to 2005, provides an insiders look at the Bush administration’s planning following the attacks on September 11, 2001, - including the pre- and post-invasion planning for Iraq. He talked about how his book challenges some widely held conceptions about what happened leading up to the war, how strategies were formulated leading up to the war, the debate within the government between liberation and occupation, and he described the events directly following the invasion. close
