A hearing was held on the impact of implementating the REAL ID Act and the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. The REAL ID Act established standards and criteria for documents such as driver’s licenses. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative requires that everyone traveling by air outside of the United States to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter the United States. close
