Representative Jim McDermott talked about his unemployment extension legislation, which would extend benefits for 13 weeks across the country and an additional 13 weeks in states with high unemployment. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.
The House is expected to vote on the measure this week, possibly today. The Bush Administration has threatened to veto. Rep. McDermott chairs the income security & family support subcommittee in the Ways & Means committee. close
