Senator Hillary Clinton spoke to supporters and thanked them for their efforts throughout the primary election campaign. She also acknowledged her win in the South Dakota primary and emphasized the 18 million votes she claimed as evidence of continued popular support for her campaign. She also said that she would continue to work for party unity and asked supporters to provide feedback on how best she could represent them in working to achieve a Democratic win in November.

She did not explicitly concede the Democratic presidential nomination to Senator Barack Obama who had gained enough pledged and super delegates to secure the nomination at the convention. close
