A hearing was held on upcoming legislation which would lay the foundation for a new approach to relations with Pakistan. The first witness panel consisted of Administration officials. Former CENTCOM Commander Anthony Zinni and former Ambassador to Pakistan Wendy Chamerlin testified in the second panel. Senator Biden stated that elements of a new approach would include tripling non-security aid, which would be tied to performance, and engaging Pakistani people along with rulers. close
