Publishers talked about the history of African-American publishing. Topics included the longer than 40-year history of black publishing, the current preponderance of urban literature, the societal effect of street literature, children’s literature, and mass market success. The panelists responded to questions from members of the audience. Moderator Max Rodriguez is the publisher of QBR The Black Book Review.

“40 Years of African-American Publishing” was a program of the 10th annual Harlem Book Fair in the Langston Hughes Auditorium of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.

The program ended with a view of the street fair and a programming announcement. close
