Senator Barack Obama and members of a congressional delegation held a press conference in Amman, Jordan. Senator Obama talked about U.S. policy in the Middle East and answered questions from reporters. In his remarks he said the U.S. would continue to maintain a special relationship with Israel under his, or any other, administration. He also said any U.S. involvement in peace talks must recognize not only Israel’s security concerns but also the economic hardships facing Palestinians.
