The U.S. Ambassador to the Soviet Union, Robert Strauss, responded to questions from reporters after meeting with President Bush and his advisers in the president’s vacation home in Maine. Mr. Strauss discussed his recent trip to the Soviet Union, and said there was never “any question” about the eventual U.S. recognition of the Baltic states. close
