The Senate received the nomination of Alan Greenspan, of New York, to be Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve Board for a term of four years. The Senate agreed to the conference report on H.R. 972, to make permanent the legislative reinstatement of the power of Indian tribes to exercise criminal jurisdiction over Indians. close
