The subcommittee heard testimony on the U.S. drug policy in the nations of Peru, Colombia and Bolivia. During the hearing, Subcommittee Chairman Conyers introduced two audits from the General Accounting Office and another audit from the State Department which he said showed the drug war in the Andean nations is plagued by mismanagement and is ineffective. Witnesses included officials from the General Accounting Office and the State Department. close
