The program started with a roundtable discussion of legal experts examining copyright laws versus First Amendment rights and then showed footage from the courtroom proceedings of Rogers v. Koons. In that case, photographer Art Rogers sued sculptor Jeff Koons, alleging that Koons illegally used one of Rogers' photographs as the basis for a sculpture. During the program, viewers heard the arguments in the case as presented to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City. That court is one of two appellate courts taking part in a three year experiment allowing cameras in federal courtrooms. close
