Early in his administration, President Bush announced an Education 2000 program, goals for American educators to strive for in the next decade. Since then, the National Governors' Association has held a number of field hearings. The National Parent Teacher Association released its second annual survey revealing parents' attitudes on those education goals. The survey details the involvement of parents in their children’s education. This survey will be published as part of a “Special Report on Education in America” in this week’s edition of Newsweek magazine. close
