Committee members met to mark up campaign finance legislation. Earlier in the week, House Speaker Foley and other Democratic leaders endorsed the reform proposal. The bill calls for a $600,000 overall campaign spending limit for House candidates in exchange for public matching funds of up to $200,000. According to the plan, no more than one-third of the total spending limit could be raised from political action committees (PAC’s). close
