Democratic President Candidate Bob Kerrey addressed an audience at a Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner in Des Moines, Iowa, sponsored by the Iowa Democratic Party. In his remarks, Sen. Kerrey criticized “lazy” U.S. trade policies and a “lazy” U.S. government which have contributed to the current status of America’s economic situation. He stated his intention to change U.S. foreign policy if elected president, to cooperate with the Soviet Union rather than compete against it. close
