President Bush announced that he will appoint Transportation Secretary Samuel Skinner as his new chief of staff. Secretary Skinner, who was not present, will replace John Sununu, who resigned from the post earlier this week. Reporters asked the president about his ideas for stimulating the nation’s economy. He also spoke briefly about the type of presidential campaign he anticipates next year, now that he has opponents in both the Democratic and Republican parties. close
