Mr. Bennett and Mr. Marshall discussed the problems of urban America and how the Clinton and Bush campaigns have addressed the issues, including crime, education, economic revitalization and health policies. Mr. Bennett headed the nation’s fight against drugs during the Reagan administration. The Clinton plan looked to get into the communities for solutions. The Bush campaign focused on enterprise zones, home ownership and more effective law enforcement. Callers asked about HUD Secretary Jack Kemp and his ideas on urban development, what will the tax burden be for new urban programs and more community banking efforts. close
