Rep. Newt Gingrich, House Minority Whip, responded to questions from reporters outside the White House shortly after members of Congress met with the president to discuss legislation designed to provide aid to American cities. Rep. Gingrich complained that while the administration has produced two bills to provide aid to America’s cities, congressional Democrats have failed to produce one plan to help the cities. He discussed related issues including enterprise zones, and railed against the lack of bipartisan commitment from the Democrats in Congress. close
