President Bush spoke about a ceasefire between Georgian and Russian forces following armed conflict in separatist regions of Georgia. In his remarks he called on Russia to honor the ceasefire amid reports of further conflict, and said that Secretary of State Rice would travel to the region. He also said the U.S. supported the Georgian government and would provide U.S. humanitarian aid.

He was accompanied by Secretaries Rice and Gates. close
