David Carr talked about his book The Night of the Gun: A Reporter Investigates the Darkest Story of His Life - His Own. The book recounts his addiction to crack-cocaine and alcohol and the journalistic practices and fact checking he used to report on his own life story, and to better understand his past and his substance abuse problem.
David Carr is a media columnist and cultural reporter for The New York Times. He was formerly the editor of the Twin Cities Reader and the Washington City Paper, and had written for New York magazine and The Atlantic Monthly. He currently writes a column for the Monday Business section of the New York Times that focuses on media issues including print, digital, film, radio and television. He also works as a general assignment reporter in the Culture section of The New York Times covering all aspects of popular culture. close
