Tariq Ali talked about his book The Duel: Pakistan on the Flight Path of American Power (Scribner; September 16, 2008). In his book, he talks about the relationship between the U.S. and Pakistani governments over the decades and argues that in this relationship the interests of the Pakistani people have been ignored. He discussed his book, and the current situation in Pakistan, with guest interviewer Robert Dreyfuss.
Tariq Ali writes for The Nation, the Guardian (London), the London Review of Books, and New Left Review. He is the author of many books, including The Clash of Fundamentalisms; Bush in Babylon; and Pirates of the Caribbean. The Duel is his third book on Pakistan.
