Fred Pearce talked about Confessions of an Eco-Sinner: Tracking Down the Sources of My Stuff (Beacon Press, October 1, 2008). To research the book he traveled to over twenty countries around the world to find out how the items that he used in his every day life were produced. Mr. Pearce wanted to determine not only his carbon footprint but also his social footprint by examining if the “fair trade” coffee he drank was really fair, how his jeans and t-shirt were produced, and what happened to his old cell phone. Following his remarks he responded to audience members' questions.
