Illustrator and political cartoonist David Levine talked about his forthcoming book American Presidents (Fantagraphics; November 24, 2008). Drawings from the book were shown. To learn about his work, Book TV visited Brooklyn, New York where the artist, born in 1926, has lived the majority of his life. Mr. Levine gave a tour of his works displayed in his home.
The pen and ink caricatures of artist David Levine have appeared in the pages of Time, Newsweek, Esquire, Playboy, The New Yorker, The Nation and for over 40 years, the New York Review of Books. Five decades of Mr. Levine’s presidential caricatures are featured in his new book, “American Presidents.” close
