Shaun Donovan testified about his nomination to be the secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Among the topics he addressed were the housing crisis; ways to improve the strength of HUD; and his commitment to quality and affordable housing and development throughout his career. Committee members stressed the need for HUD to take a more aggressive role in preventing home foreclosures and responding to the overall economic crisis. He was introduced by Senator Schumer. close
