Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas spoke to the press after their meeting in Ramallah in the West Bank. Secretary Clinton told reporters that the Palestinian Authority was “the only legitimate government of the Palestinian people.” She also expressed support for humanitarian aid to Gaza residents and building a comprehensive two-state solution. This was her first trip to the Middle East as secretary of State.
