Azadeh Moaveni talked about her book Honeymoon in Tehran: Two Years of Love and Danger in Iran (Random House; February 3, 2009). The American-born journalist talked about her decision to move to Iran in 2005 to cover Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s election for Time magazine. She talked about how she fell in love and got married there and her experiences with young middle-class people who she says want freedom and contact with the West but also embrace the nationalism espoused by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Topics included Iranian society, economic conditions, gender issues in Iran, and U.S-Iran relations. She then answered questions from members of the audience. close
