Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf talked about her memoir This Child Will Be Great: Memoir of a Remarkable Life by Africa’s First Woman President (Harper; April 7, 2009). She talked about her personal and political history and her hopes for her nation. She was interviewed by Mocha Ochoa before an audience.

Ellen Sirleaf Johnson, who became president of Liberia in 2006, previously served as that country’s minister of finance and as an executive for Citibank. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George W. Bush.  close
