General James L. Jones spoke on the Obama administration’s approach to national security. Following his prepared remarks he responded to questions from the audience.

In his first public remarks as national security adviser, he announced that President Obama would discuss North Korea’s recent atomic test and other belligerent actions during a summit in Moscow with Russian President Dimitri Medvedev. He also said that North Korea’s greatest threat comes from spreading its nuclear technology.

In response to recent criticisms by Former Vice President Cheney and others, he said said America is not only safe under the Obama administration, but will become increasingly secure under the president’s leadership. close
