In her first major foreign policy address U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke on promoting nuclear nonproliferation, combating violent extremism, and improving food security. She also called the violent suppression of democracy demonstrators in Tehran “deplorable and unacceptable,” demanding that Iran deal with the U.S. on nuclear disarmament or face tougher sanctions. She responded to questions from audience members following her remarks. close
