Sheikh Dr. Khalid al-Atiya, First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq, talked about preparations for upcoming elections in Iraq and other political issues. In his remarks he said he would like to see more open elections when Iraqi voters go to the polls next January. He also called for a reduction in the role of religion in Iraqi politics.
