President Obama spoke at a Labor Day picnic hosted by the ALF-CIO in Cincinnati, Ohio. He said that benefits like paid leave, minimum wage and Social Security “all bear the union label,” and urged unions to use their voice to support health care reform efforts in Congress. He also talked about the state of the economy saying “our recovery plan is working,” but that he would not be satisfied until jobs were much more plentiful. close
