Historian Richard Norton Smith spoke about Abraham Lincoln’s presidential legacy 200 years after his birth. He compared Lincoln against other presidents, including President Obama. He also talked about first ladies. Professor Smith also responded to questions from members of the audience.
The founding director of the Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Mr. Smith has also served as director of the Hoover, Eisenhower, Reagan, and Ford presidential museums. The author of numerous books on the presidency and American history, Smith serves as ABC News' presidential historian.
