Witnesses testified about the proposed Employment Non-Discrimination Act. The legislation to prohibit employers from discriminating against minorities, and would prohibit bias on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Exempt from the bill were the armed services, veterans' service groups, religious organizations and groups with fewer than 15 employees.

In the third panel supporters and opponents of the bill testified about the prevalence of workforce discrimination and possible consequences of enacting the legislation. Vandy Beth Glenn, who’s transgender, described her termination after she announced she was transitioning from male to female. close
