World leaders spoke at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. International leaders spoke about the importance of the fall of the wall, the end of the Cold War, and the impact of German Unification. President Obama videotaped a message for the ceremonies.
Several “dominoes” painted to represent portions of the wall lined the square, but the symbolic display knocking the dominoes down was not shown.
Intermittent audio difficulties at the source prevented some speeches from being heard or translated at the beginning of the event. close
