Representative Donald Manzullo talked about the Obama administration’s decision to buy a correctional facility in Illinois, 150 miles from Chicago, to house some detainees from Guantanamo Bay. He also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. Representative Manzullo had feared such a step would make the town of Thomson a “magnet for terrorist activity,” but he says he will press the federal government to enhance public security.
