Haynes Johnson recalls the life of Washington Post editorial cartoonist Herbert Block.  The artist’s career spanned seventy years, and included three Pulitzer Prizes for editorial cartooning (1942,1954, 1979) and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1994. Haynes Johnson explores Herb Block’s political and social critiques that ranged across the decades, from the Great Depression, Civil Rights, Vietnam, and Reagan, Bush, and Clinton administrations.  Haynes Johnson recounted the Herb Block’s life and career at Politics & Prose Bookstore in Washington, DC. close
